For the final design, I chose to create the image of a ghost coming out of a projector. My idea behind the design is a kind of production company which I've nicknamed "Beamergeist," which roughly translates "projector ghost" in German, as well as a play on the word "Poltergeist," which is used to describe a ghost that can move and throw objects.  Cinema is referred to as the "material ghost" because of the unique aspect of the art medium, as well as some films can be referred to as a "zeitgeist" for capturing the curing mood of society and the feeling of the audience at the time of its release with its themes and messages. The logo is also reminiscent of the movie Ghostbusters, with how the ghosts in that movie would be trapped/controlled in a box, similar to how films are controlled in the format they are displayed in. I chose to do this design because I love filmmaking and the creativity that can come with different production styles. The first colored design I chose to do has the color pallet of the lucky colors in China. I chose these kinds of colors as ghosts are believed to be bad luck, and many films that feature ghosts are not allowed to be shown in the country, and to relay a message that the logo is for entertainment and not as something that is threatening.

For my final portfolio, I wanted to construct mine in a book or magazine format. I wanted to design the project in this way that way I can store it on a bookshelf and have it look natural rather than a series of horizontally printed pages. I wanted to keep the black and white theme to give a uniform sense to the print, like a screenplay. With that in mind, I also used the Courier font typeface to keep the theme. However, to add my own personality to the front and back covers, I chose to include my signature rather than just my typed name. For the format of the pages, I chose to dedicate one page for each project to also include the conceptual sketches, original images, and the thought process leading into every project. Another unique piece that I added to the portfolio was on my first project, where I included text that meant to be in memory of David Prowse, the bodybuilder who wore the Darth Vader suit in the original Star Wars  film trilogy. Black and White to Color

 The image I chose to use for this project was from Halloween 2019, where I painted my face and wore clothes to look like a protestor from the movie Joker . In the photo, I had just gotten back from a party and was feeling exhausted, and had begun peeling the paint from my face. The reason why the paint was peeling was that I had used acrylic paints, which aren't healthy to put on faces, but I was broke and in art school so I used what I had. I felt like this photo captured me in a way that not a whole lot of images can, with me trying to be humorous but not afraid to allow the faults show.
