     The Internet is a connection of cables and servers that are able to communicate vast amounts of information all over the world within seconds. Acting like highways, cables span entire countries and even under oceans to connect computers and servers that are thousands of miles apart. The Internet was created by the US Department of Defense, acting as a way to communicate and collaborate with different universities and corporations for research in the late 1960s called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). However, the system was gaining new users and needed more perfection, like addresses of computers could change and the means of communicating one computer to another needed a more streamlined process. The Internet's creation is now credited to scientists Robert Kahn and Vint Cerf, who developed the Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol systems in the 1970s, which was then implemented with the ARPANET in the 1980s as an improved form ...

Although I am nervous about being a transfer student in a new environment with a pandemic, I am excited to learn more about the various software and programs we will be using, including Photoshop.  I am from Eastern Pennsylvania, now living in the Scranton area. I am majoring in Film and Media, and enjoy watching and studying all forms of art and entertainment.  What I expect to gain from this class are better understandings of how to use new programs and technology to further my creative goals and visions, as well as learn to work with others who share my interests.
